Helmets  Ι

The artwork "Helmets I" is inspired by the fragments of the Greek Fire Brigade history. How we deal with the past, today. Protective headgear, fire helmet was and still is a defensive weapon for the firefighter. The artwork explores the dialogue between the protective "weapon" and the concept of the invisible "hero". These worn-out souvenirs as ruined items do not require anything from anyone. A momentary thought is enough to activate the memory, a tribute to the fighting firefighter. This technological achievement is thus transformed into a work of art and the installation highlights the following: «…rusty remnants, unwavering in order give with a pleasure in time their pride (M.
