2021, Leather Firefighting Helmets with Metal Elements

The artwork "Helmets I" is inspired by the fragments of the Greek Fire Brigade history. How we deal with the past, today. Protective headgear, fire helmet was and still is a defensive weapon for the firefighter. The artwork explores the dialogue between the protective "weapon" and the concept of the invisible "hero". These worn-out souvenirs as ruined items do not require anything from anyone. A momentary thought is enough to activate the memory, a tribute to the fighting firefighter. This technological achievement is thus transformed into a work of art and the installation highlights the following:
